The UPMS is a collective asset with no physical structures or pedagogical ties and therefore requires political and methodological references to configure its common identity. The main UPMS documents are the Charter of Principles and the Methodological Guidelines, which were produced and decided collectively on the basis of UPMS assemblies held as part of the World Social Forums. It is of the utmost importance that these documents are respected, although this does not imply a rigid process. It is possible that as the UPMS develops these documents may be reconsidered and discussed again in future assemblies at World Social Forums, thus ensuring that diversity is always respected and taken into consideration.
