The Project


  1. The Popular University of Social Movements – Knowledges Global Net it is a space of intercultural formation that promotes a process of inter-knowledge and auto-education with the double objective to increase the reciprocal knowledge between the movements and organizations and to become possible coalition between them and joint collective actions.
     

  2. It constitutes a space opened for the deepening of the reflection, the democratic debate of ideas, the formulation of proposals, the free exchange of experiences and the joint for efficient actions, of local, national and global entities and social movements witch are opposite to the neo-liberalism and the domain of the world by the capital and any form of imperialism.

  3. The target public of the PUSM is composed by activists and social movements´ leaders, members of not governmental organizations, as well as social scientists, researchers and artists pledged in the progressive social transformation.

  4. The PUSM functions through a net of interactions guided to promote the knowledge and the critical valuation of the enormous diversity of knowledges and practices carried out by the different movements and organizations.

  5. Its essence is in its inter-thematic character, created through the promotion of reflections and joints between different movements as the feminists, workers, students, indigenous, ecological activists and etc.

  6. Its main objectives are:

      1. to overcome the distinction between practice and theory, promoting meetings between those who are dedicated essentially to the exercise of the social transformation and the ones that are dedicated to the theoretical production;
      2. to promote a reciprocal knowledge between movements and organizations that act inside the same thematic area but operate in different parts of the world;
      3. to promote, through the intercultural translation, a knowledge shared between movements or organizations with intervention in different thematic areas, increasing the reciprocal knowledge between movements.
